oedipus' rex

Part II

"whoever killed king Lai'os might who knows?-decide at any moment to kill he as well." Pg. 964 line 140-141
2.Trying to find how to help Thebes.
3.It gives the audience a visual of the problems at Thebes.
4.Some motifs are arrogance,pride,Irony,Self pity,honer, and tragedy.
5.The chorus is singing aboiut how the city is scared but there god will bring the city out of this hard time quickly. They also say that Teirsias' is lying.
PartIII
1."I do not intend to torchure my self or you."

"You killed him with you own hands: if you had eyes, I'd say the crime was yours, and yoiurs aloe."
these two quotes were Teiresias' roles.

"I can if there is power is truth."

"I have gone free. It is the truth that susrains me."
These quotes show Teiresias' internal conflict.
2.The external conflict is stopping the problems in Thebes and finding the murderer.
3."Wealth, power,craft of statesmanship, Kingly position everywhere admired."

"Say what you will, whatever you say is worthless."
4.The fact that Oedipus does not realize that the murderer that he is looking for is actually him.
5. When Teiresias' says that the killer is in thebes, which is true because the true killer is Oedipus.
6. It is saying that the true killer will be revealed on account of pride and guilt.
